This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, stored, and shared when you use the Miu: Body Positive Stuart mobile application (the “App”). The App is provided by Cedricson Hawkridge (“we”, “us”, or “developer”).

2. What the App does

Miu is a personal wellbeing and body-neutrality support app. It offers journaling, learning content, meditations, challenges, achievements, and calming tools. The App does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

3. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the App, we may process the following categories of data:

On-device content you create — mood entries, thought reframes, gratitude notes, creative lab items (such as letters or comfort notes), calendar tasks, and similar personal reflections. Much of this remains on your device.
Synced journal history — mood, reframe, and gratitude history may be backed up to our servers so it can be restored for your device.
Achievements and progress — unlocked achievements, streak values, and related progress markers may be synced to our servers.
Anonymous device identifier — a randomly generated device ID used to associate synced history and achievements with your installation. This is not your name, email, or Apple ID.
Support messages — if you contact support through the App, we receive the email address, subject, and message you submit.
Technical service data — standard server logs needed to operate and secure the API (for example request time and basic connection metadata).

To provide core App features and offline-first experience
To sync and restore journal history and achievements
To respond to support requests
To maintain, secure, and improve the backend service

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your journal content for advertising.

5. Where data is stored

On your device — local App data is stored on the device so many features work offline.
On our servers — synced journal history, achievements/progress, and support tickets are stored by our backend hosted at come.miubody.online (including infrastructure providers used to host that service).

6. Sharing of information

We share information only when needed to operate the service (for example hosting providers), to comply with law, or to protect the safety and integrity of users and the App. We do not sell or rent personal data to third parties.

7. Data retention

Synced history and achievements are retained while associated with your device identifier and needed to provide the service. Support messages are retained as needed to handle your request and maintain records. You may request deletion at any time using the contact email below.

8. Your choices and deletion

In the App, you can use Settings → Clear All Data to remove local data and request deletion of synced server data tied to your device identifier.
You can also email cedricson.hawkridge@icloud.com to ask questions or request deletion of server-side data.

9. Children’s privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

10. International users

If you use the App from outside the region where our servers are hosted, your information may be processed in another country. By using the App, you understand that synced data may be transferred to and stored on those servers.

11. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information transmitted to and stored by our backend. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when revisions are published. Continued use of the App after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
